Welcome to October's edition of our newsletter! I'd like to start by apologising for the lack of a magazine and newsletter last month. As I was moving home and having internet problems I was unable to get either done! However, everything is all sorted now and we are back to normal.
The eighth issue of our online magazine, The Realm, is out now! In this issue we have:

Meanwhile on the forum...
We have a number of threads on that most elusive of cetaceans, the beaked whales. Little is known about this deep diving whales but a BBC crew is aiming to find out sending out a reporter on the research vessel, Song of the Whale, to try and find out more about these rare animals.

Monteray Bay's 4th Great WHite Shark had only a short stay in CAptivity, she was released after just 11 days

Some beautiful photos of rare South China Tiger cubs that were born in captivity in South Africa have been revealed

And the UK has been amazed by video footage of a rare black fox roaming a graveyard

The martians have landed! Well. not quite but a newly discovered species of ant is bizarre enough to warrant the name "Ant from Mars"

Meanwhile two species of frogs thought to have been extinct for over 15 years have reappeared giving hope for other endangered frog species.

The Loch Garten saga is far from over! Satellite tracking devices on both of the chicks - Nethy and Deshar - are enabling everyone to follow their migration to Africa...

And a grey heron was photographed fishing for rabbits!

100 new species of shark and ray have been named from around Australia alone
